![Kate MacDowell - “canary”
In her biography, MacDowell states that she’s “collected visual imagery and ideas from [her] travels through Renaissance Italy, Classical and Minoan Greece, Nepal and Thailand,” so it’s no wonder that the Greek mythos seem to play such a large role in her work. The pomegranate made me laugh (and upon checking, it’s also explicitly named Persephone) and i love love love that the Daphne was instantly recognizable and completely modern at the same time.
as for this piece, birds, innards AND it lights up? color me tickled pink! (“safety” the bunny in safety goggles is also unbelievably precious.) speaking of innards, the Rodarte for Target line (with its promising sequin rib cage dress!) is out today!](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_kuwusnMaOj1qzu6y6o1_r1_500.jpg)
